  40. ExtraDOS Toolbox is a compilation of tools useful to Microsoft DOS
  41. users.  I originally wrote the first version of ExtraDOS under MS-DOS
  42. because I found a need for them and there were no commercially
  43. available products that provided these functions.  Some ExtraDOS tools
  44. were designed to enhance programs already found in MS-DOS.  Other
  45. tools were familiar to the Unix world, but were not available in
  46. MS-DOS.  Over the years this collection has grown into large group of
  47. very useful tools.  Some of these utilities are duplicates of those
  48. found elsewhere, but often provide much better features or reduced
  49. memory overhead than similar utilities found elsewhere.  In addition,
  50. ExtraDOS complements PC-Tools and Norton Utilities with added tools
  51. these programs do not provide.

  53. Over thirty of the ExtraDOS Toolbox utilities have been selected by
  54. Paul Somerson, former Executive Editor of PC Magazine, for Bantam
  55. Books', DOS Power Tools, 2nd Edition, Revised and Expanded for DOS
  56. 5.0.  Many of the ExtraDOS Toolbox utilities are now appearing in many
  57. popular DOS books that feature shareware enhancements for DOS.

  101.   Upon notification of defects in material or workmanship,
  102.   within the warranty period of 45 days from the date of purchase,
  103.   Foley Hi-Tech Systems will, at its option, replace the defective
  104.   diskette or refund the license fee. If you need to return a product,
  105.   call the Foley Hi-Tech Systems Technical Support Service Department
  106.   to obtain a return authorization number. The remedy for breach of
  107.   this warranty shall be limited to replacement or refund and shall
  108.   not encompass any other damages, including but not limited to loss
  109.   of profit, and special, incidental, consequential, or other similar
  110.   claims.

  141. DESCRIPTION
  142.  
  143.   BOOTLOCK is a simple utility that will lock out the use of the
  144.   [CTRL][ALT][DEL] soft boot sequence and the [CTRL]C or [CTRL][BREAK]
  145.   break sequence.  The default is to disable both keys from having any
  146.   effect, but you may wish to only disable one or some combination.
  147.   See the usage flags below to disable specific keys.  Once installed
  148.   you may also un-install and remove the program from memory by using
  149.   the /U parameter.

  193.   To specify an arbitrary key to disable use the /K: switch followed
  194.   by the string representation of the keystroke.  Shifting keys must
  195.   be first, the actual scan code key, and only one is allowed, must be
  196.   last.  Spaces are not allowed anywhere in the key string.  "Named"
  197.   keys are enclosed in square brackets.  The following named strings

  256. When parsing the strings the input is converted to uppercase, the

  265. It is possible to indicate hotkeys that would normally be considered
  266. invalid, for example if you only specify:

  270. BOOTLOCK will completely disable the [ALT] key, not a good idea
  271. (unless this is what is desired).

  273. Once a key has been specified with /K:nnn, you can re-enable the key
  274. with /K+, then disable it again by specifying "/K".  BOOTLOCK
  275. remembers the key so you don't have to type in a long string every
  276. time unless, of course, you change the keystroke or unload BOOTLOCK
  277. from memory.

  284.   Often we get calls from people asking questions that can be
  285.   solved easily by checking through the manual before calling tech
  286.   support. We ask that you browse the manual and look for information
  287.   pertaining to your particular problem before calling. This can often
  288.   save you time, as we take a collection of our most common questions
  289.   and try to address them in this manual.

  291.   We offer alternative methods besides the conventional phone
  292.   support, such as a multi-line 24-hour BBS system. We also monitor
  293.   most technical conferences in the BBS Interlink and RelayNet
  294.   networks as well as many conferences on the CompuServe
  295.   Information System. You may send messages and questions via any of
  296.   these services.

  298.   Currently our Tech Support office is staffed Monday through Friday
  299.   from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. There is a chance,
  300.   however, that someone is in the office outside this time frame.

  321.   grown tools that I just could not stand to live without.  Many times
  322.   someone would see me using them and ask for a copy.  This was a big
  323.   mistake.  All of the sudden I had to debug my code.  Someone would
  324.   call me up and remind me of some problem with a utility that I had
  325.   written or asked me to just add this one little feature.  Six years
  326.   later the package has evolved to its current state.  Along the way I
  327.   have had the help of many people in testing and ideas for products.
